Markets weak; Wipro down nearly 6%

The key domestic benchmark indices remained in the negative territory during the morning session of trade as investors booked profits at high levels. Further weak cues from the global peers have dampened the sentiments of the investors. Sensex was trading down by 64 points amid selling pressure in index heavyweights including Wipro, Hindalco, Tata Motors and BHEL among others. On the same note, the 50-share Nifty index also came under some bit of pressure after hitting its record high of 7840.95 and was now trading near its crucial psychological support level of 7800.
At 10:20AM BSE SENSEX was at 26207.47, down by 64.38 points or by 0.25 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 7811.2, down by 19.4 points or by 0.25 per cent.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 9282.05 down by 11.41 points or by 0.12 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10195.37 down by 33.96 points or by 0.33 per cent.
The BSE Sensex touched an intraday high of 26300.17 and an intraday low of 26207.47, while the NSE Nifty touched an intraday high of 7840.95 and an intraday low of 7806.95. The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 767.00,+2.58%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 652.40,+1.57%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1049.05,+1.31%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1213.75,+1.09%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 2519.95,+0.81%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 543.60,-5.76%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 475.00,-2.18%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 193.35,-2.13%), Sesa Sterlite Ltd. (Rs. 294.30,-1.29%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1487.00,-1.21%), among others.
