Mid-Sessions: Sensex down 150 points; Axis Bank up 2%

Markets further slipped over 0.5 per cent during the afternoon session of day’s trade, led down by loses in index heavyweights Coal India, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, TCS, Sesa Sterlite. Metal Index among the biggest loser in this hour of session of trade followed by Realty Index. Axis Bank, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Bharat Heavy Electricals, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki India among the majoe notable gainers.
At 12:15 hours the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 25973.28 down by 153.47 points or by 0.59 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 7755.95 down by 34.5 points or by 0.44 per cent.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 9148.54 down by 29.67 points or by 0.32 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 9973.18 down by 63.99 points or by 0.64 per cent.
Among the major losers in the Sensex pack were BSE Sensex pack were Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 364.25,-3.18%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1006.40,-1.50%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1455.30,-1.40%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2569.80,-1.35%), Sesa Sterlite Ltd. (Rs. 288.50,-1.28%), among others.
Meanwhile, the top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 406.00,+2.22%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2777.00,+1.13%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 229.40,+1.12%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2590.00,+0.58%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 2514.75,+0.33%), among others.
Among the thirteen sectoral indices on BSE, BSE CDS index was at 8489.64 up by 21.79 points or by 0.26%. Bajaj Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 336.20,+3.59%), VIP Industries Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2641, shares advanced were 1052 while 1490 shares declined and 99 were unchanged.
