AP govt to execute two metro rail projects

Andhra Pradesh government is set to execute two metro rail projects in Visakhapatnam and VGTM (Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri) area - within three-and-half-years Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has been assigned for the construction of these two projects and principal adviser E Sreedharan has been appointed as the adviser for the AP government on the metro rail projects. AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is said to have asked Sreedharan to prepare a feasibility report and to finish both the projects within three and a half years. The state government also proposed a metro rail project for Tirupati, but it would be taken up after completion of the Visakhapatnam and VGTM ventures, an official release said.
