Japan visit to boost biz ties: CII

According to industry body, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s five-day visit to Japan will be a stepping stone to enhancing business partnership with Japan and will open up new business opportunities in Asia’s third biggest economy which grew at the fastest pace in more than two years last quarter.
"The Prime Minister's visit to Japan has laid the foundation for the Special Strategic Global Partnership as envisaged by the leadership of our two countries. New opportunities have emerged for industry following the visit," said CII President Ajay Shriram, the PTI reported.
"It is the right time for Japanese companies to seize this opportunity and look at India as a business destination. This will support the growth of Indian economy and industry for mutual benefit," said Shriram, who was a part of the CEOs' delegation visiting Japan”, the PTI reported.
Japan has agreed to invest USD 35 billion in India over the next five years for development projects in the country. Modi and his Japanese counterpart Abe also inked five agreements in spheres of defence exchanges, cooperation in clean energy, roads and highways, healthcare and women as the two sides vowed to enhance their relationship.
