M-Cap of top 5 Sensex firms up Rs 31,165 cr

The market capitalisation of top five Sensex firms rose by a combined Rs 31,164.67 crore last week, data from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) showed, the PTI reported.
While the market value of TCS, ONGC, RIL, ITC and ICICI Bank rose last week that of CIL, Infosys, HDFC Bank, SBI and Sun Pharmaceuticals declined.
India’s biggest IT services exporter TCS emerged as the biggest gainer among top 10 Sensex firms in terms of rise in market capitalisation last week as the firm’s market value rose Rs 12,330.2 crore to Rs 494,500.47 crore.
The market cap of FMCG major ITC surged by Rs 9,122.61 crore to Rs 282,960.46 crore while that of ONGC climbed by Rs 7,101.05 crore to Rs 372,292.15 crore.
The market cap of India’s largest private sector bank ICICI Bank climbed by Rs 2,206.58 crore to Rs 180,068.93 crore last week while that of RIL rose by Rs 404.23 crore to Rs 323,148.52 crore.
India’s public sector banking major SBI’s market cap fell by Rs 4,714.61 crore to Rs 183,690.58 crore while that of private lender HDFC Bank declined by Rs 730.23 crore to Rs 203,381.18 crore.
The market cap of coal major CIL fell by Rs 568.47 crore to Rs 225,115.23 crore last week.
