Tourism Ministry announces special package of 100 cr to J&K

The Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik on Thursday announced a special package of Rs 100 crore for restoration and reconstruction of the affected government tourist facilities in Jammu and Kashmir.
J&K has recently witnessed an unprecedented natural calamity that has caused massive damage to both life and infrastructure in the State.
“Over and above the already prioritized projects for Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of approx. Rs 127 crore, in the current financial year for developing tourism infrastructure in the State, the Ministry of Tourism will extend a Special Financial Package of Rs 100 crore to the State for rebuilding the recently damaged government tourist infrastructure,” according to an official statement released by Ministry of Toursim.
The state government will be advised to assess the destroyed and damaged tourist amenities and conveniences and come back with the requirement of funds for rebuilding the infrastructure. On examination of the demand, Ministry of Tourism will sanction funds.
The funds sanctioned in the relief package will be utilized for restoration and reconstruction of infrastructure across the State with a special focus on tourist facilities in the valley.
