Market remains under pressure; Gail, Dr Reddys weigh

The 30-share benchmark index, Sensex was trading in a rage with a negative bias amid selling pressure in the index heavyweights including Gail, Dr. Reddy, LNT, Tata Motors, Reliance Industries and Cipla among others. Tracking the momentum, the 50-share Nifty index turned choppy and was trading below its crucial psychological level of 7800, led by losses in pharma, oil & gas and realty stocks.
At 10:21AM BSE SENSEX was at 26123.07 down by 24.26 points or by 0.09 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 7785.4, down by 10.35 points or by 0.13 per cent.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 9311.25 down by 0.47 points or by 0.01 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10237.82, up by 33.64 points or by 0.33 per cent.
The BSE Sensex touched an intraday high of 26190.81 and an intraday low of 26077.7, while the NSE Nifty touched an intraday high of 7802.45 and an intraday low of 7771.65. The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 567.25,+2.22%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 196.80,+1.92%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 640.00,+1.19%), Tata Power Company Ltd. (Rs. 104.00,+0.92%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 236.50,+0.92%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 432.10,-1.44%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2706.25,-1.01%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1642.75,-0.73%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 565.65,-0.65%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 3325.30,-0.65%), among others.
Among the sectors, In BSE, BSE Metal index was at 13449.5 up by 130.59 points or by 0.98%. Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 567.25,+2.22%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 196.80,+1.92%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 88.80,+1.83%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1204.45,+1.59%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 298.20,+1.36%),.
