Government seeks to fill 2 Competition Commission member posts

The government has started the process of filling two member posts at the Competition Commission of India, which keeps a check on unfair business practices, reported PTI. The posts fell vacant after members S N Dhingra and Geeta Gouri retired earlier this year, as per the media reports. Applications have been sought by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, which administers the CCI, by July 24, according to a notice on the fair trade watchdog's website. A member of the CCI can hold office for five years or until the age of 65, as per the media reports. According to media reports, candidates should have special knowledge of and at least 15 years of professional experience in international trade, economics, business, commerce, law, finance, accountancy, management, industry, public affairs or competition matters, including competition law and policy.
