M-cap of top 5 Sensex firms climbs Rs 98,000 cr last week

Market capitalisation of top 5 Sensex firms jumped by over Rs 98,000 crore last week as foreign investors continues to pour in funds into Indian equities as the election of Narendra Modi as the country’s prime minister lifted the outlook for Asia’s third biggest economy which has grown below the 5 per cent mark for the past few quarters.
According to a PTI report, market cap of top 5 Sensex companies surged by Rs 98,170.7 crore led by PSUs Coal India Limited, State Bank of India (SBI) while RIL, ONGC, and HDFC also saw a significant addition in their market capitalization.
The market cap of Coal India Limited rose by Rs 32,781.93 crore at Rs 251,107.1 crore last week.
The market cap of lender State Bank of India rose by Rs 25,454.4 crore to Rs 205,699.6 crore. ONGC saw its market capitalization rise by Rs 19,292.6 crore to Rs 348,636.2 crore.
The market cap of RIL rose by Rs 15,304.8 crore to Rs 364,550.7 crore last week while that of private sector lender HDFC climbed Rs 5,337 crore to Rs 143,514 crore.
