Sensex opens higher; Realty stocks up

The Indian benchmark was trading in green in the early session of day’s trade. Realty sector stocks were on the rise with Anant Raj leading the pack followed by Oberoi Realty, Mahindra Lifespace Developers, D B Realty and Godrej Industries. At 9:39AM BSE SENSEX was at 25314.66 up by 86.01 points or by 0.34 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 7556.85 up by 30.2 points or by 0.4 per cent.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 9097.32 up by 52.4 points or by 0.58 per cent. while the BSE SMLCAP was at 9940.98 up by 84.98 points or by 0.86 per cent
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1573 , shares advanced were 1071 while 459 shares declined and 43 were unchanged
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1431.55,+2.73 per cent), State Bank of India (Rs. 2556.65,+1.61 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1923.70,+1.38 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 468.25,+1.12 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1210.05,+1.08 per cent), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 951.80,-2.62 per cent), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 456.70,-1.05 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 820.00,-0.82 per cent), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 332.90,-0.36 per cent), Sesa Sterlite Ltd. (Rs. 287.10,-0.35 per cent), among others.
