* AVIATION: Tata-Singapore Airlines plans to launch its services in India
from September, with 87 weekly flights in first year of operations.
* CORPORATE: Y&R and J Walter Thompson, and Omnicom shop TBWA

advertising pitch, currently underway.
- The Queensland government in Australia has given environmental
approval to a $16-bln coal mine and rail project, proposed by homegrown
Adani Group.
- The Adani, GVK and Lanco groups are looking to sell part of their
stakes in Australian coal mining projects to reduce debt and get financial and
technical partners on board.
* ENERGY: The finance ministry is likely to only partially compensate oil
marketing companies for the revenue losses incurred on sale of subsidised fuels
in 2013-14 (Apr-Mar).

* MINING: Companies under investigation in coal block allocation scam will
continue to remain under hooks as the CBI has assured the court that it will not
file closure reports in any of the coal scam cases till Jul 8, the next date of
hearing.
* REGULATORY: RBI Deputy Governor R. Gandhi has reiterated that any
entity, corporate or a non-banking financial company, that wished to purchase
over 5% stake in any bank would have to seek prior approval from the central
bank.
* TELECOM: Telecom department will seek legal opinion before challenging a
telecom tribunal order that allowed intra-circle roaming agreements on 3G
networks. Government will not appoint arbitrator in response to the notice sent
by Dutch arm of Vodafone seeking international arbitration to resolve its tax
dispute.
