Natural Gas futures end tad higher ahead of US supplies data

Natural Gas futures ended with slim gains in the domestic market on Wednesday as investors and speculators stayed cautious over booking fresh positions in the energy commodity ahead of the weekly US supplies data on Thursday which may show a rise in US gas stockpiles last week, signaling sluggish demand for the fuel in the world’s biggest fuel consumer. US gas stockpiles mat have risen by 116 billion cubic feet last week, analysts’ estimates showed ahead of EIA data. At the MCX, Natural gas futures for June 2014 contract closed at Rs. 275.90 per mmBtu, up by 0.04 per cent, after opening at Rs 275.40, against the previous closing price of Rs 275.80. It touched an intra-day high of Rs 276.60.
