Natural Gas futures rally on warm weather

Natural Gas futures closed higher in the domestic market on Tuesday as investors and speculators booked fresh positions in the energy commodity as forecasts for warmer weather in the US bolstered the demand outlook for the fuel which is used to fire up air conditioners. The MDA Weather Services predicted a surge in heat across the eastern part of US over the next five days. At the MCX, Natural gas futures for June 2014 contract closed at Rs. 285.20 per mmBtu, up by 0.42 per cent, after opening at Rs 285, against the previous closing price of Rs 284. It touched an intra-day high of Rs 286.30.
