Sensex up; Trading resumes at BSE

The Indian benchmark was trading in green as it now resumed normal trading after facing connectivity issues earlier today. Shares of Apollo Tyres rose nearly 4 per cent on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) after the company said its board has approved a proposal to invest $340 million (around Rs 2,025 crore) to upgrade its manufacturing facilities at Chennai and Kalamassery (Kerala). At 13:25 PM BSE SENSEX was at 25,855.75 up by 14.54 points or by 0.06 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 7715.30 down by 9.85 points or by 0.13 per cent.

The BSE MIDCAP was at 9490.27 up by 17.35 points or by 0.18 per cent. while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10431.15 down by 3.03 points or by 0.03 per cent

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eicher Motors (Rs. 8620.00,+5.36 per cent), Apollo Tyres. (Rs. 211.40,+3.50 per cent), Indian Hotels. (Rs. 268.90,+ 3.13 per cent), Motherson Sumi (Rs. 356.20,+ 3.13 per cent), BAJFINANCE. (Rs. 108.70,+ 3.08 per cent), among others.

The top gainers of the NSE Nifty pack were TATAMOTORS (Rs. 466.50,+ 2.35 per cent), SUNPHARMA. (Rs. 706.80,+ 1.93 per cent), WIPRO. (Rs. 549.35,+ 1.57 per cent), MCDOWELL-N (Rs. 2,512.00,+ 1.12 per cent), SSLT (Rs. 313.30,+ 1.03 per cent), among others.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1,933, shares advanced were 895 while 987 shares declined and 51 were unchanged.
