Alibaba to foray into Indian ecommerce biz with Snapdeal: Report

Bolstered by growing ecommerce business in India, China’s leading online retailer Alibaba is planning to enter Indian market by reaching out to Snapdeal with possible investment proposal.
“Alibaba is in talks with Snapdeal for a possible investment in the Indian company, but a decision has not been reached yet, the daily business newspaper Economic Times reported, citing two people aware of the development.
E-commerce business in India has been the flavour of this year with company’s such as Flipkart, Amazon, Quicker proposed to invest multi-million dollar in its India business and companies looking to sign strategic partners to boost sales.
Meanwhile, Alibaba is all set to debut on the US market on Friday in what could be the world's largest ever initial public offering, ET reported.
