M-cap of top 4 Sensex firms dips Rs 39,391 cr

The market capitalisation of top four Sensex companies declined a combined Rs 39,391.49 crore last week with state-run energy major ONGC emerging as the biggest loser, data from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) showed. While TCS, ITC, Infosys, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Sun Pharma witnessed a rise in their market value last week, the likes of ONGC, RIL, CIL and SBI suffered a dip in their market capitalisation. The market value of ONGC fell by Rs 20,661.51 crore to Rs 346,497.35 crore last week, while Coal India Limited (CIL) suffered a decline of Rs 7,642.8 crore in its m-cap to Rs 218,451.46 crore. The m-cap of RIL fell by Rs 6,824.25 crore to Rs 321,677.70 crore last week while that of India’s largest public sector lender SBI declined by Rs 4,262.93 crore to Rs 191,757.30 crore. However, India’s biggest software services exporter TCS witnessed a rise of Rs 20,018.2 crore in its m-cap to Rs 530,433.33 crore while that of Infosys rose Rs 1,671.03 crore to Rs 212,550.65 crore. The market value of FMCG giant ITC climbed by Rs 3,116.42 crore to Rs 286,634.60 crore last week. The market value of the country’s biggest private sector bank ICICI Bank climbed by Rs 645.55 crore to Rs 181,714.77 crore last week.
