Sensex turns volatile ahead of F&O expiry

The S&P BSE Sensex remained volatile during the morning session of trade ahead of the June series expiry tomorrow. The 30-share benchmark index was marginally up by 10 points amid profit booking in stocks including Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, ITC, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries and Cipla among others.
At 10:19AM BSE SENSEX was at 25378.83, up by 9.93 points or by 0.04 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 7584.45, up by 4.25 points or by 0.06 per cent.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 9217.11, up by 55.93 points or by 0.61 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10028.45, up by 50.74 points or by 0.51 per cent.
The BSE Sensex touched an intraday high of 25427.8 and an intraday low of 25329.27, while the NSE Nifty touched an intraday high of 7589.25 and an intraday low of 7566.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2270.00,+2.22%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 398.55,+1.77%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 156.80,+1.16%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 447.25,+1.15%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 464.90,+1.14%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 334.60,-1.86%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 317.30,-0.97%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1425.95,-0.88%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1912.50,-0.63%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1054.40,-0.50%), among others.
Among the sectors, In BSE, BSE Power index was at 2268.02 up by 20.06 points or by 0.89%. PTC India Ltd. (Rs. 94.80,+2.32%), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. (Rs. 744.30,+1.97%), Adani Power Ltd. (Rs. 61.05,+1.75%), JSW Energy Ltd. (Rs. 77.25,+1.38%), Reliance Power Ltd. (Rs. 106.80,+1.18%),.
On the flip side, In BSE, BSE Oil&Gas index was at 11478.37 down by -38.46 points or by -0.33%. Petronet LNG Ltd. (Rs. 182.65,-1.93%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total 2255 shares traded, 1346 shares advanced, 810 shares declined, while 99 remained unchanged.
