Sensex opens lower; Realty stocks down

The Indian benchmark was trading in red in the early session of day’s trade. Realty sector stocks were on the decline with Housing Development & Infrastructure leading the pack followed by Unitech, D B Realty, Sobha Developers and Indiabulls Real Estate. At 10:01AM BSE SENSEX was at 25503.54 down by -57.62 points or by -0.23 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 7610.75 down by -29.7 points or by -0.39 per cent.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 9247.02 down by -44.67 points or by -0.48 per cent. while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10148.62 down by -44.5 points or by -0.44 per cent
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1841 , shares advanced were 701 while 1081 shares declined and 58 were unchanged
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2471.95,+3.82 per cent), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 553.20,+2.85 per cent), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 443.30,+1.41 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 980.65,+0.74 per cent), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 3263.00,+0.61 per cent), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 367.20,-2.26 per cent), Tata Power Company Ltd. (Rs. 106.20,-2.16 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 185.00,-1.99 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 238.25,-1.97 per cent), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 147.80,-1.76 per cent), among others.
The top gainers of the NSE Nifty pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2466.45,+3.55 per cent), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 551.75,+2.68 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1486.60,+1.35 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 982.70,+1.06 per cent), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 440.95,+0.89 per cent), among others.
