According to media reports, the Andhra Pradesh government is seeking help from Australia in a bid to strengthen the infrastructure in the southern Indian state.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu, who met with an Australian delegation that included the Lord Mayor of Brisbane Graham Quirk, underlined the abundant investment potential in the state, seeking help from the latter in building and strengthening infrastructure projects such as road and drainage networks.
Naidu stressed that given that the state of Andhra Pradesh was awash with natural resources such as 1,000 km-long coastline; it possesses huge investment and wealth creation potential.
The Chief Minister said that the state government was focusing on establishing basic infrastructure as well as on sectors such as power, IT, manufacturing and pharma.
"We still have a few impediments in our way. It is just a matter of time before Andhra Pradesh becomes one of the top three states in the country," said a statement quoting the Chief Minister, the PTI reported.
