Sensex opens higher; Realty stocks up

The Indian benchmark was trading in green in the early session of day’s trade. Realty sector stocks were on the rise with Indiabulls Real Estate leading the pack followed by Sobha Ltd, Mahindra Lifespace Developers, D B Realty and Housing Development & Infrastructure. At 9:25AM BSE SENSEX was at 26999.87 up by 119.05 points or by 0.44 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 8077.05 up by 49.45 points or by 0.62 per cent.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 9642.33 up by 41.93 points or by 0.44 per cent. while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10801.65 up by 77.59 points or by 0.72 per cent.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 517.00,+1.65 per cent), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 654.35,+1.38 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3068.15,+1.10 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1286.05,+0.96 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 394.85,+0.78 per cent), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sesa Sterlite Ltd. (Rs. 248.00,-0.90 per cent), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 492.00,-0.71 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 3060.00,-0.67 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 456.00,-0.65 per cent), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 147.40,-0.27 per cent), among others
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1275 , shares advanced were 976 while 263 shares declined and 36 were unchanged
Among the sectoral indices on BSE, BSE Realty index was at 1450.56 up by 13.56 points or by 0.94 per cent. Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 65.60,+2.10 per cent), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 417.90,+1.65 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. (Rs. 493.05,+1.46 per cent), D B Realty Ltd. (Rs. 60.90,+1.42 per cent), Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd. (Rs. 76.40,+1.19 per cent)
